'Fowl' Language Upsets Some in Pa.

ALTOONA, Pa. - A convenience store chain's billboard advertising its fried chicken sandwich is ruffling the feathers of some residents. Sheetz unveiled the "Crispy Frickin' Chicken" billboards at the beginning of February. The campaign consists of 100 billboards placed locations that carry the sandwich, spokeswoman Monica Jones said Thursday. The campaign is aimed at young adults, and the company did not intend to offend anyone, Jones said. "We're kind of known for edgy, kind of brash advertising tactics, and we knew this would spark a certain amount of controversy," Jones said. "That said, we're proud of the campaign." .

What's on in the UK in 2008

Chester's renaissance as a 21st century City extends into the retail sector too. Work began in September 07 on the £280 million Northgate Development, which will change the face of the area around the Town Hall. The new scheme will regenerate 25% of the area within the ancient City Walls and create a new, purpose-built performing arts centre seating audiences of up to 1000 people, 60 new Rows-style shops, a department store for House of Fraser; a new indoor market; library and multi-storey car park. The 19th century, Gothic-style Town Hall will become a freestanding building for the first time in over 100 years. www.chesterrenaissance.co.uk Press contact for further details: Caroline Hoppe (Visit Chester & Cheshire) tel: 01244 405622/ email: c.hoppe@visitchesterandcheshire.co.uk The Grand Arcade Cambridge, Cambridgeshire Full open Spring 2008 This exciting new development will bring a 21st C.

Apart from getting ten or fifteen bucks 15 years ago when I played as part of a pep band for an opening of one of their stores at Penn State, Wal-Mart has never paid me one red cent nor have anybody else associated with this project; I don't even like Wal-Mart, but can't stand hysterical idiots who demand we abandon the rule of law because they don't like a particular tenant.

Judge Mark Fuller - Asshole or diligent, obedient, and greedy foot ...

The above from a Harpers column last year. http://www.harpers.org/archive/2007/08/hbc-9000076...

Last Sunday, 60 Minutes broadcast its story on the travesty that is the Siegelman conviction. Just before and since, Karl Rove's personal fingerprints have been found to be on the whole mess. To put it bluntly, the top GOP leadership did everything and anything they could to stop a man who was popular enough to be elected (and possibly be a Rovian victim of election fraud) and suffer the consequences.

People like Judge Mark Fuller represent everything that is wrong with the US legal system. Funny, he is too twisted and obedient to recognize the damage he does.

To paraphrase Sir Douglas Adams, tongue in cheek, Mark Fuller and his criminal cabal will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.

Arizona News: I'm Jerry, I Stole From My Parents

Hook further stated, "There were people honking their horns in support and others who made sure I watched them dial 911. Although a few police officers and detectives drove by we didn't have any trouble from anybody; and Jerry, other than being a little cold and crying a bit, I think he's getting the message". Jerry, one of two children in this rural American household, lives with Steve who has proudly taken on the role of being a responsible father figure. "We thought this would be effective for the short term, so it may continue for a few days before and after school at different intersections. This is a very bright boy that should be given all the love in the world. We know that we must be vigilant, but damn its tough," he concluded. .

kf Feels Brad Grey's Pain!

He's so entitled to take this shot: MSNBC's Tucker Carlson, on Dan Abram's reappearance as an anchor (after being promoted to general manager of the network):

Over at CNN Jon Klein runs the show. Do you think he could host an hour of television? How do you think that would rate? Not well. So in the end, we're proud of Dan."

Meanwhile, Klein is still milking respectability points from his decision to end Crossfire, where Carlson once soldiered loyally before being gratuitously humiliated by Klein. Klein gets praised for his "candor." He then says ratings are not that important. "This is, first and foremost, a battle for journalistic excellence." ... P.S.: Marketwatch's fawning inerviewer, Jon Friedman, explains Klein's ratings non-triumph, after almost two years on the job:

CNN most likely won't make any dramatic strides until the U.S.

Forsberg ready to return to NHL

Drury and Avery that are carrying the team; when the rangers lose it is not from a lack of effort from those guys; Renney deserves credit and the players (we know who) deserve the jeers. 3) Question 1 - doesn't Vallequette deserve to play tonight? he has been good if not great all year. only one bad effort from recollection - and one bad angle goal that oh by the way King Henry let in twice. Valley deserves back to back games - other teams ride the hot hand even if it is short lived. 4) Question 2 - ever think about an AARP line - Let Straka center Jagr and Shanahan - move Drury to wing to make the move - could it be any worse? - at least we would have two complete lines Hungry for the puck with pressure.
